Weather
Like all places in the Mediterranean, it is hot in mid-summer. However, being on the north side of the island, this is alleviated by the cool sea breeze. Spring and autumn have normally very warm temperatures during the day with pleasant evenings.

Language
The locals all speak Turkish Cypriot and many speak English.
Driving
Driving is as in England, on the left and the majority of roads are well maintained. Please note that the Police do enforce speed and drink driving laws and at all times you should wear a seat belt.
Voltage/Current - 240v
Electricity supply, to include all devices is compatible with UK fittings.
Currency
The official currency is Turkish Lira, also known as TL. English notes and travellers cheques are widely and readily accepted. Credit cards are not favoured due to the lengthy delay involved before the vendor receives the money. It is also well known that the rate of exchange and charges involved are not in their favour. There are many banks and exchange bureaus available, should you wish to convert to the local currency.
